The campaign “Taste booster” is under the initiative of DG “Health and Consumers” of the European Commission. It is a pilot project in Bulgaria, Slovakia and Romania. The aim of the initiative is to test different approaches to increasing the consumption of fresh F&V.
It was found that in the EU, people with lower socioeconomic status consume less fruit and vegetables. Therefore the project is focused mainly on three main target groups:

  • Children
  • Pregnant women
  • Elderly people over 60 years

The campaign aims to draw attention and to motivate the three main target groups to cooking and consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables, and to spread cooking skills and interests.
To achieve this goal, monthly cooking sessions take place in every pre-selected organization during the period 2012 to 2013.
