IED is an internationally renowned academic network, with a history dating back 50 years, operating in 11 cities across the globe, including 7 in Italy (Milan, Turin, Florence, Como, Rome, Venice, Cagliari), 2 in Spain (Barcelona, Madrid) and 2 in Brazil (San Paolo and Rio de Janeiro), providing education and training in the fields of design, fashion, visual arts, art, communication and management. Students from more than 130 countries across the world have successfully graduated from IED.
IED’s educational offer includes: Undergraduate courses (First Level Academic Diplomas, Tituli superior in Design, Bachelor Diplomas, BAH Diplomas and IED diplomas) Master courses (First level Master’s and IED Master’s courses) and Continuing Study Programmes. IED offers young talents a comprehensive and systematic training rendering “competence and mind-set suited for design culture” that will grow to be the key success factor in their careers.
Bulgarian students can take advantage of the two scholarship sessions offered by IED each year.

IED’s student learning experience is based on the concept that knowledge and know-how must go hand in hand. The core of tuition is a perfect balance between theory and practice. Industry professionals and partner companies partake in the educational process. The courses have a well-defined theoretic curriculum combined with practical work, answering the needs for career development and market demand.
IED has academic and cultural exchange programmes with various universities and international design schools, such as CUMULUS – the Association of Design Training Organizations under the sponsorships of the Socrates programme; ELIA – the European League of Institutes of Arts and the IAA – the International Advertising Association.
At IED you can obtain the following academic qualifications: ‘Advance Study Programme’ certificate for one year; three-year diploma, equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree.
Some of the courses are taught in English. Foreign students complete a language study course corresponding to the location of the campus as some of the subjects are in the local language.
IED provides students with the opportunity to immerse themselves into the cultural setting of its many cities and to embrace various artistic traits and styles. The students have the opportunity to be exposed to diverse cultural, economic and business environments which, in turn, shall promote their successful international careers.
